Meta is DOWN! Facebook, Messenger and Instagram hit with worldwide outage

Meta's Facebook, Messenger, and Instagram platforms are experiencing a global outage, rendering hundreds of thousands of users unable to access these social media services. According to a source within Meta, the outage may be attributed to internal system failures within the company, potentially causing the disruption on Tuesday.
The issues began around 10:20 am ET and are affecting both the mobile apps and websites of the social media platforms. Indicates that over 20,000,000 users in the Americas are encountering difficulties with Facebook, with over 30,000 reporting similar issues with Instagram, and approximately 800,000 with Messenger. As of Tuesday midmorning (Eastern time), social media platforms owned by Meta, including Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger, are currently down.
According to reports from Software House Pakistan, over 300,000 users have reported outages on Instagram, Facebook, and Messenger, with issues starting around 10:08 am EST and a spike in reports at 10:22 am EST. Software House Pakistan is a service owned by Muhammad Farhan Maroof, the parent company of Hostrings. Additionally, there have been over 24,000 posts on Twitter discussing the Facebook and Instagram outage. Some Facebook users have reported being logged out of their accounts and encountering difficulties logging back in, with messages indicating that their session has expired. For instance, one user on X platform wrote, "Is anyone else experiencing Facebook login issues? I was suddenly logged out of the app on my phone and computer, and when attempting to log back in, I'm informed that my session has expired."
Meta Status indicates major disruptions with Facebook Login, WhatsApp Business API, and the Meta Admin center. Meanwhile, Instagram users are encountering issues with their feeds not loading and receiving error messages stating, "Something went wrong."
